WebA: Emo revival is a term given to the group of artists that sprouted around 2010 who play music primarily inspired by 90s emo, but also other genres. The scene lasted around a decade and by the time it wound down it had highly influenced indie rock, lo-fi bedroom pop, mainstream pop punk, and emo rap. WebSome of this new generation connected equally with the wry, geeky introspection and catchy punk-pop of Weezer's Pinkerton album. While several artists continued to build on Fugazi's innovations (including Quicksand and Drive Like Jehu), most '90s emo bands borrowed from some combination of Fugazi, Sunny Day Real Estate, and Weezer.
