However, Ford did not use the letters "I" or "O" in their date codes, as they are too similar to 1 and 0 (zero). So your casting date is October 21, 1996. WebNov 12, 2024 · Explorer block. The 5.0 truck motor got a base roller cam in '92.. and the both the 5.0 and 5.8 got the F4TE roller cam in '94. You'll want to swap out the cam if you get a motor with the base roller cam.. it's really sad compared to the F4TE cam and strangles the motor.

Actualy the '85 roller block is a little different for the rest of th roller blocks, it did not have siamesed cylinders, that started with the '86 blocks.
